Forecasting conflict risk in the Gulf

An oil major, concerned about the Iranian nuclear standoff, commissioned us to assess the impact on their business in the Gulf region. Prepared for board-level decision maker, the security intelligence-based study concluded that the most probable scenario was that Iran would make ‘substantive concessions to lift sanctions’.

The report provided assessments on the status of the Iranian nuclear programme, in addition to the intentions and capabilities of Iran, Israel, the US and the Gulf states. We also provided detailed scenario analysis and designed an early warning system for ongoing intelligence and analysis monitoring.

Local intelligence for a national project

A major financial institution commissioned us to undertake a wide-ranging security intelligence gathering and assessment project to inform decisions about the viability of a multi-billion dollar infrastructure investment in Afghanistan.

Our security risk assessment, which incorporated political risk analysis, was built upon detailed local intelligence and research carried out on the ground and through our international source network. It included high-level forecasts, intelligence on security, politics and social issues on the ground, mapping of key tribal stakeholders and incident-mapping in relevant areas. We also held local focus groups and undertook micro-polling in relevant areas to gauge opinion towards the proposed project.
